Anyone can be a #camerado - it's a human thing...

Carly

We are delighted to be a part of Camerados; a super cool movement that is all about connecting with each other. Their principles echo our own ethos- we want to connect people up, not fix them up but rather come alongside them, and provide spaces for people to just be who they are.

I went along to the #cameradoscampfire in the fabulous Peak District last weekend, and was overcome by the enthusiasm and drive of the people involved, all who are creating amazing Public Living Rooms in their own areas from hospitals to universities and even further afield in Baltimore who get through tough times by looking out for each other. It's beautiful and simple- it's not a service, it's creating comfortable spaces for human contact (with some fun and silliness thrown in for good measure). Who wouldn't want to get involved in that?

We can't wait to get "crackalackin" (I've been reliably informed that apparently this isn't a word) and will be popping up Public Living Rooms as part of our community programmes in collaboration with the fabulous Camerados crew.

We're going to start with a Public Living Room in Waltham Forest, if you'd like to find out more, be a camerado in one of our Public Living Rooms or support us by providing a space, please do get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
